The Pilgrim
Short Film





This is the first motion graphics project we were given in 4th year. I chose the first line of the poem ‘The Pilgrim’ as my starting point. I built the words using coloured card. I set up a stage for filming using three different cameras at different angles to shoot at once and began destroying my 3D type with paint. After filming I brought all the footage into Adobe After Effects for final editing. The footage was reversed in an effort to recreate the theme of reassembly, as this was a prominent theme within the poem.
