The department wanted a welcoming poster that could be used for their official Erasmus welcome night. They offered alot of freedom for the concept of the design. The soloution was a shot of a NCAD ball held in the college. The photo captures a scene of people dancing, hugging, laughing and partying. I chose the first line of the poem ‘The Pilgrim’ as my starting point. I built the words using coloured card. I set up a stage for filming using three different cameras at different angles to shoot at once and began destroying my 3D type with paint. After filming I brought all the footage into Adobe After Effects for final editing.
